Now: building agents & skills

Day job · IT Analyst at TCS

From Patan, to Bhandu, to Gandhinagar.

I’m Krunal. I build things with AI agents , data and code, and I write down what I learn: how-tos, agent skills, notes on books and research, and opinions on where tech is going. By day I’m an IT Analyst at TCS, where I’ve spent 7+ years: Power Platform and Dynamics 365 first, then GenAI assistants and 500+ data pipelines .

I build things with AI, data and code, then write about what worked and what didn’t.

In plain words: I’m an IT Analyst at TCS in Gandhinagar, 7+ years in. I build AI agents, agent skills, data pipelines and apps people use.

Who am I

I’m Krunal. I’ve been making software since a diploma in Patan, where I built Kaide, an Android assistant. At college in Bhandu I was one of a team of seven who built Ask To Agri Expert, a multilingual app where farmers ask experts their questions; it took 3rd place at the Smart Gujarat for New India Hackathon in 2018. Since 2019 my day job has been at TCS. At work and outside it, I keep coming back to the same thing: take a tool people have to use and make it work for them. These days that mostly means AI agents.

Selected work

Work I did at TCS for clients I keep anonymous, and things I build for fun. Flip the lever.

In plain words: I keep a company’s data in step across its systems, and I build assistants that answer people’s questions.

2024

Copilot Studio employee assistant

problem Employees called the IT help desk for answers they could have found on their own.

  • A Copilot Studio assistant deployed in Teams, connected to SharePoint, Confluence, Jira and Okta.
  • Document intelligence for HR and policy questions, ITSM ticket creation and tracking, automated MFA resets and live-agent escalation.
  • Helped find and clean up outdated knowledge content along the way.
  • Copilot Studio
  • Power Automate
  • Power BI
  • SharePoint
  • Confluence
  • Jira APIs
  • Okta APIs

2024

Telecom data platform

problem A telecom operator's data lives in 15+ internal systems and has to stay in sync with one central PostgreSQL database, millions of records a day.

  • I develop and maintain 500+ Pentaho Data Integration pipelines into a central PostgreSQL database, handling millions of records daily.
  • I built custom Java components that stream Apache Kafka data into PDI, beyond its built-in steps.
  • I build Power Apps Canvas apps for the business users on top of the data.
  • Pentaho PDI
  • PostgreSQL
  • Apache Kafka
  • Java
  • Power Apps

GenAI customer service agent

  • Contributed to a telecom operator's GenAI customer service virtual agent on Dialogflow CX and Gemini.
  • Dialogflow CX
  • Gemini
  • GCP

2019–2024

Power Platform programme

  • Model-driven and Canvas Power Apps, Power Automate flows and Power BI reports.
  • C#/.NET plugins extending Dataverse and Dynamics 365 business logic.
  • React-based PCF controls for model-driven apps, Canvas apps and Power BI, plus custom connectors.
  • Apps included deal, rights, title and checks apps, an application tracking system on Power Pages, and production, scheduling and other apps.

How I work

Most of my work is making data and agents dependable for people who never want to think about them. This is roughly how.

In plain words: data arrives from many systems, gets checked, and lands in one database, and at the end the counts have to match.

illustrative How I design a reliable sync. Pick a step to see why it is there.

Sources. Start from the systems people already use. Each source gets an owner, a schedule and a known shape before any pipeline touches it.

Make reruns safe

Every step can run twice without harm. Recovery becomes pressing a button, not a meeting.

Fail loudly, recover quietly

Errors stop the line and say why. Fixes go back through the same pipeline as everything else.

Small, named steps

If a step needs a paragraph to explain, it is two steps.

Write it down

The runbook lives next to the pipeline and changes with it.

Writing

How-tos, agent skills, book notes and opinions. Written down so I remember, published so you can argue.

Nothing published yet. The first posts are on the way.

What I'm into

Outside work I read and tinker a lot. Lately that means how AI agents reason, how brains do it, and the hardware that makes any of it fast. These are the subjects that keep pulling me back.

Why I create

I make things because building something is the fastest way I know to understand it. Most of what I know came from projects that had to work for someone.

Hobby projects land here soon.
